Southeast Lighthouse was built in 1875. The 1938 hurricane severely damaged the lighthouse and by the 1990’s the National Trust for Historic Preservation named the landmark one of America’s most endangered structures. NCA restored the keeper’s house by replacing all windows and doors, repointing and cleaning masonry, and installing mechanical, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems.
