As part of the replacement program for I-195, one third of the existing 1930 concrete arch bridge and former highway was preserved, restored, and rededicated as a pedestrian park that acts as the Providence terminus of the East Bay Bike Path. NCA’s design includes the restoration of the original granite drawbridge operator’s house, bronze flagpole bases, and monumental bronze plaques located on four abutment pylons, and new ornamental bronze railings.
